HC Deb 31 May 1916 vol 82 c2695
28. Mr. MacCALLUM SCOTT

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he can now give an assurance that the facilities for training in the use of trench mortars, both at home and abroad, are adequate?

Mr. TENNANT

I cannot add anything to what I stated to my hon Friend on the 9th of May, except that this matter receives constant attention both at home and abroad.

Mr. MacCALLUM SCOTT

Cannot the right hon. Gentleman state whether the facilities for training in the use of trench mortars are adequate?

Mr. TENNANT

They are believed to be as adequate as they can be.

Mr. MacCALLUM SCOTT

Do any facilities at all exist in Scotland?

Mr. TENNANT

I cannot say without notice.
