HC Deb 31 May 1916 vol 82 c2687
44. Mr. R. McNEILL

asked the Under-Secretary for War, in view of the character of the fighting in the streets of Dublin in Easter week and the bravery and good conduct that distinguished the troops engaged, whether it is the intention, following the precedent of the Riel rebellion in Canada, to issue a medal for troops who took part in the suppression of the Sinn Fein rebellion?

Mr. TENNANT

I am not aware that there is any such intention.

Mr. McNEILL

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider it?

Mr. TENNANT

I will consider it.
