HC Deb 16 March 1916 vol 80 c2267
102. Mr. BUTCHER

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he will state the conditions under which an officer on active service in France who is a Member of the House of Commons is granted leave; whether these conditions are different in the case of an officer so serving who is not a Member of the House of Commons; and whether it is possible for an officer commanding a battalion in France who is a Member of the House of Commons to resign his command during the continuance of the War for the purpose of attending the House of Commons or otherwise?

Mr. TENNANT

I would refer my hon. and learned Friend to the answer I gave yesterday to the hon. Member for East Marylebone. As regards the last part of the question, the answer is in the negative.
