HC Deb 14 March 1916 vol 80 cc1891-2
72. Mr. GREENWOOD

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, with the object of restricting the importation of luxuries, and in view of the fact that the plumage trade is for the most part in the hands of persons of alien origin, he will consider the advisability of imposing prohibitive duties on the importation of all plumage with the exception of ostrich feathers?

Mr. McKENNA

I fear I am unable to anticipate the next financial statement.
