§ 50. Mr. WATTasked the Prime Minister whether his attention has been called to the fact that the Westminster Tribunal has passed epileptics for the Army under 1869 the Military Service Act, 1916; and, if so, whether he intends to take any action, by means of regulation or circular or otherwise, to try to prevent this system of bringing up the numbers of the Army?
§ Mr. LONGThe Prime Minister has asked me to reply to this question. I am informed that the Westminster Tribunal had before it the case of a voluntarily attested man who, it was alleged, was subject to epileptic fits. Questions of fitness on grounds of health are determined in the case of attested men, being already members of the Army Reserve, by the military authorities, and not by the local tribunals. The case was accordingly dismissed by the tribunal.
