HC Deb 14 March 1916 vol 80 c1856
3. Mr. GINNELL

asked, with reference to the public statements by Egyptian Ministers that on the deposition of the Khedive they had decided to remain in office to avoid British Ministers taking their places, will he say what communications of a threatening character were made, officially or otherwise, to the Ministers by the British authorities in Egypt?

Sir E. GREY

I have no knowledge of the statements referred to in the first part of the hon. Member's question, but I can assure him that he is completely misinformed as to the communications to which he alludes in the second part.
