HC Deb 29 June 1916 vol 83 c1011
25. Mr. CURRIE

asked the Comptroller of the Household, as representing the National Health Insurance Commissioners, whether the practice which at one time caused dissatisfaction in Scotland of treating tuberculosis cases in poorhouses is now entirely forbidden as regards both soldiers and civilians: and whether the public may rely upon no reversion to this practice being permitted?

The COMPTROLLER of the HOUSEHOLD (Mr. Charles Roberts)

No such arrangement as is indicated in the question can be made by insurance committees under the National Insurance Acts. If the hon. Member will furnish me with further information as to any specific case which he may have in mind, I shall be glad to make inquiry.

Mr. CURRIE

Will the hon. Member note that I was not asking for the information, but I was anxious to get an assurance?
