HC Deb 29 June 1916 vol 83 c1012
28. Mr. CURRIE

asked the Comptroller of the Household, as representing the National Health Insurance Commissioners, whether the attention of individual members of insurance committees throughout the country has been drawn to the recommendation of the Committee of Public Accounts that individual members of insurance committees should be held personally liable for future payments of an irregular character and to their further suggestion that in cases specially reported by the chief auditor severe action such as the withholding of Government funds should be resorted to?

Mr. ROBERTS

The Report referred to, I understand, is now under the consideration of the Treasury, and no such action as in suggested has in the meantime been taken. I may add that paragragh 31 of the Report, which is referred to in the last part of the question, relates to approved societies.
