§ Lord R. CECILHis Majesty's Minister at Bucharest is Sir George Barclay, a British-born subject. The answer to the second part of the question is in the negative. Sir Walter Townley was there from 1911–12 and Sir Conyngham Greene from 1905–11. None of these names, either Christian or surname, suggest German or Austrian extraction, and I would suggest that before the hon. Member puts questions of this sort on the Paper he should either by recourse to a book of reference 811 or by private inquiry obtain the information that would show him that a public question was unnecessary, if not ridiculous.
