asked the Secretary of State for India what arrangements have been made for the grant of a suitable compassionate allowance for the widow and children of Mr. Pettigrew, inspector of the Indo-European Telegraph Department, who recently died in captivity while held prisoner by German emissaries at Ahram, in Persia?
