HC Deb 31 July 1916 vol 84 c2053
35. Mr. P. WHITE

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture why the cargo of sheep on the "Colleen Bawn," which sailed from Drogheda on the 18th instant, was detained, having regard to the fact that the animals were at no time in contact with those on the "Mellifont," which had one sheep suffering from scab?

Mr. ACLAND

The vessels named did not sail from Drogheda with any sheep on the 18th instant; and if the hon. Member has in his mind the voyage to which his question of the 27th instant refers, I think he will see that the full facts are given in my reply to that question. No case of sheepscab occurred in the "Mellifont" on that or any subsequent voyage this month.
