Mr. LEIF JONESasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether his attention has been drawn to the memorial of the Omanhene and Chiefs of Eastern Akim, Gold Coast, presented to the Governor in April last, praying for the exclusion of the sale of rum from their area; whether the Governor declined to accede to their request; whether there is any reason why this petition should not be granted; and, if not, whether he will give instructions accordingly?
