§ 32. Sir A. MARKHAMasked whether Baron Emile d'Erlanger is a naturalised British subject; if so, what was his nationality before he became a British subject; and has he obtained a Royal licence to bear the title of baron?
Mr. SAMUELThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. On application for naturalisation in 1891 this gentleman stated that he was the subject of no foreign State, having been released from German nationality. He was 195 born in France of German parents. I understand that he has not obtained a Royal licence to use the title of baron, and that it is not therefore officially recognised.
