HC Deb 05 July 1916 vol 83 cc1508-9
57. Major WALTER GUINNESS

asked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that clerks in Government employment who were made prisoners when fighting British troops in the Dublin rebellion have since their release been reinstated; and whether he has sanctioned the giving of Government pay to those who took part in the rising?

Mr. H. SAMUEL

The reply to both parts of the question is in the negative.

Major GUINNESS

Will the right hon. Gentleman inquire as to Patrick Kelly, who was taken prisoner defending Jacobs' factory, and as to Patrick Sheehan, who fought in the rebellion—

Mr. SPEAKER

The hon. Member must give notice of those questions.
