§ 31. Mr. HOGGEasked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether a soldier who has purchased his discharge and would, but for that, have been serving until 1917, can be called up under the provisions of the Military Service (No. 2) Bill; and, if so, whether the purchase money would be refunded?
§ Mr. TENNANTAs the Bill now stands, I think that such men would be liable. The question of the refund of purchase money in such cases is being considered.
§ Mr. HOGGEWill the right hon. Gentleman make an announcement on this point, because obviously it is fair that the applicant should know that?
§ Mr. TENNANTYes, I will give the earliest indication.
