HC Deb 12 January 1916 vol 77 c1592
45. Sir NORVAL HELME

asked the Prime Minister, if it is intended to authorise the tribunals to consider applications for exemption or postponement from men already attested on the same grounds as provided in the Military Service (No. 2) Bill now introduced?

54. Mr. HAYDN JONES

asked, in view of the fact that the tribunals to be set up under the Military Service (No. 2) Bill axe to be vested with wider powers to deal with claims to postponement and exemption than the tribunals under the Derby scheme possess, whether steps will be taken to enlarge the powers of the latter so as to secure equality of treatment for men who have already attested?

Mr. TENNANT

Should the local tribunals be given wider powers than they possess at present, the men already attested will be given the same privileges as those who would be deemed to have been attested under the Military Service (No. 2) Bill.
