HC Deb 11 January 1916 vol 77 cc1450-1
35. Mr. GINNELL

asked the Vice-President of the Department of Agriculture (Ireland), if, in view of the height to which rivers in Ireland have risen this season, he will say what steps the Department has taken to record the area of arable land submerged; and the amount of loss, or any species of the loss, sustained?

Mr. RUSSELL

If my answer does not satisfy the hon. Member it is not from lack of sympathy, but the matter is not in my Department, but in the hands of the Board of Works. I must, therefore, refer the hon. Member to my reply given to him on the 10th February last, in answer to a similar question, to which I have nothing to add.
