HC Deb 06 January 1916 vol 77 cc1088-9
25. Sir WILLIAM BYLES

asked the Postmaster-General whether he will change the colour of the twopenny postage stamp, the similarity of which to the penny stamp is the cause of con fusion and frequent mistake?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

This matter has been under consideration, but I have not at present any evidence that mistakes are at all frequent.

Sir W. BYLES

Could we not have the blue twopenny stamp restored?

Mr. SAMUEL

The colour blue is allocated to the 2½d. stamp.
