HC Deb 06 January 1916 vol 77 c1077
4. Sir J. WALTON

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will give the House of Commons all the information he can by making a general statement on an early date in regard to the present diplomatic situation and of British policy, such as has been made from time to time since the out break of war by the Foreign Ministers or Chancellors of France, Russia, Italy, and Germany?

Sir E. GREY

I should doubt whether, if answers to questions are included, the statements in other Parliaments of belligerent countries have been more copious than here. I would gladly satisfy the interest of the House so far as it can be done without prejudice to the conduct of the War, but this is not an easy matter.
