HC Deb 23 February 1916 vol 80 c682
15. Mr. ANDERSON

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been drawn to the case of a Royal Army Medical Corps officer at Margate who, because his landlady in her own private house switched off the electric lights at a certain hour, called in an Armyguard and placed the woman under military arrest; whether he is aware that a judge and jury awarded the woman £250 damages; and whether the War Office propose to take any further action concerning this officer?

Mr. TENNANT

I have seen a newspaper report of this case. An official report from the military authorities is being obtained.
