HC Deb 22 February 1916 vol 80 c574
46. Mr. NEWDEGATE

asked the Prime Minister whether he can make arrangements that compensation shall be given to persons suffering loss by Zeppelin raids out of German investments in this country?

The PRIME MINISTER

Arrangements have been made for State insurance against air raids, and I do not think that the question calls for further consideration at present.

Sir R. COOPER

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider whether the Government might not properly do something to relieve cases of hardship arising from the recent raid in the Midlands, where it was less contemplated that the necessity for using the State insurance would ever be required?

The PRIME MINISTER

That question was answered yesterday.
