HC Deb 21 February 1916 vol 80 c431
60. Mr. PETO

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether instructions can be issued that the £100 allowance paid to ex-Regular and ex-Territorial officers on joining the New Armies should also be paid to ex-naval officers who have joined, in view of the fact that a distinction has been drawn between ex-naval and other officers owing to the wording of the War Office instructions on the subject?

Mr. FORSTER

I think there must be some misapprehension. The £100 outfit allowance has not been given since 1914.
