HC Deb 17 February 1916 vol 80 c217
82. Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that wives and children resident in this country of men serving in the Australian contingents are ineligible for the Australian allowances; and whether, seeing that allowances are paid to the wives and children, irrespective of domicile, of men enlisted in this country, he can see his way to approach the Commonwealth Government of Australia with a view to placing the wives and children of all men serving in the British Army on the same footing in this respect?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the WAR OFFICE (Mr. Forster)

This is not primarily a War Office matter, but I will communicate with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Colonies about it.
