HC Deb 17 February 1916 vol 80 cc246-7
63. Mr. MACMASTER

asked the Prime Minister how many establishments or manufactories have the Government under their control for the making and equipping of efficient aircraft capable of meeting and resisting Zeppelins and such other hostile aircraft as have recently invaded this country; where are these establishments or manufactories situated, and under what management are they; and if such do not exist what steps are the Government taking to provide them?

The PRIME MINISTER

It would obviously be contrary to the public interest to answer this question.

Mr. MACMASTER

Would there be injury done by giving the number of establishments?

The PRIME MINISTER

It is the opinion of the Naval and Military authorities that it is not in the public interest.
