§ 94. Mr. BARNESasked the Minister of Munitions if he can yet say if the deported engineers from the Clyde can return to their homes on assurances being given; and, if so, if he will indicate the nature of the assurances required?
§ Dr. ADDISONThe Cabinet have given instructions for certain special steps to be taken. The result will be known very shortly, but until it is known it is not possible to make any definite announcement.
§ Mr. BARNESWhen will it be known? This question has been down about six times and deferred each time. Does the right hon. Gentleman know that there is a strong feeling on this matter on the Clydeside, that these men have been away seventeen weeks, and one of them, who has a wife and six children, has been separated from them ever since and has never seen them? Will the right hon. Gentleman have regard to that consideration and hurry up?
