HC Deb 23 September 1915 vol 74 cc570-1
31. Mr. MOUNT

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether, in view of the fact that a considerable number of the assisted nominations in the heavy horse societies, subsidised out of the Development Fund Grant, were not taken up last year, and having regard to the importance of encouraging the breeding of heavy horses in this country, he will extend the benefit of these assisted nominations to occupiers of 150 acres of land or paying a rent not exceeding £150 a year?

Mr. ACLAND

The hon. Member's suggestion, which has already been before the Board, will be most carefully considered when the returns for the present season are received; but I must remind him that the amounts and conditions of the Heavy Horse Grants are not wholly within the control of the Board of Agriculture.
