§ 15. Mr. CURRIEasked the President of the Board of Trade how many women have been engaged by English railway companies within the last year; whether many of them are employed in various ways which involve them in standing for long periods; whether the railway companies in Scotland have, so far as practicable, provided their women employées with seats; and whether he will endeavour to arrange with the English railway companies to do so also?
Mr. RUNCIMANI cannot say how many women have been engaged by the English railway companies during the past year. I have no reason to believe that these companies do not provide seats for their female employés when it is practicable to do so.
