HC Deb 22 September 1915 vol 74 c453
2. Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he is aware that the men on His Majesty's ship "Doris" have not yet been given their leave; and whether he can say if this is due to an oversight or to the necessity of war service?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the ADMIRALTY (Dr. Macnamara)

I am not aware that the crew of His Majesty's ship "Doris" have missed any expected opportunity for leave; but in any case all leave is at the present time necessarily governed by naval exigencies.
