HC Deb 16 September 1915 vol 74 cc163-4
27. Sir J. SPEAR

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture what action he proposes to take in further dealing with the ravages of swine fever, on the information contained in the final Report of the Departmental Committee appointed to consider the question?

28. Sir WALTER ESSEX

asked whether the Board propose to frame new regulations based upon the Report of the Departmental Committee on Swine Fever; and, if so, when and for what operative date?

Mr. ACLAND

The recommendations contained in the Report to which the hon. Members refer have in the main been adopted, and certain of them have already been brought into operation, namely, the revocation of certain restrictions on the movement locally of swine from and to markets in the Scottish and Welsh Special Procedure Areas. The procedure to be adopted as to serum treatment in swine fever outbreaks will be published almost immediately and will be operative from the 26th inst. Any further action must be based upon experience acquired.
