HC Deb 14 September 1915 vol 74 c11
8. Mr. MacCALLUM SCOTT

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether he has considered the recommendation of the Royal Scottish Arboricultural Society that steps should be taken to secure that, at the end of the War, those soldiers who desire to find outdoor employment in the country may have an opportunity of doing so in a scheme of afforestation combined with small holdings and other rural industries; and whether he has taken any action in this or other respects to make provision for the employment of soldiers at the end of the War?

The SECRETARY for SCOTLAND (Mr. McKinnon Wood)

The matter is now being considered by the Board of Agriculture for Scotland, and I hope to have their Report shortly.
