HC Deb 14 September 1915 vol 74 cc15-6
Captain GUEST

As representing a group of Liberal and Unionist Members, I desire to ask whether the Prime Minister will give us an opportunity to discuss National Service at an early date?

The PRIME MINISTER

I am not prepared at present to make any statement.

Captain GUEST

I think it is only fair that we should be allowed to say that we had made an attempt—

Mr. SPEAKER

The hon. Gentleman can ask a question, but not make a statement.

Captain GUEST

Will the Prime Minister give any answer to the deputation which is anxious to wait upon him in order to save the necessity of such a debate?

The PRIME MINISTER

I do not think this is a matter which can be conveniently dealt with by way of deputation.
