HC Deb 20 October 1915 vol 74 c1774
20. Lieut.-Commander WEDGWOOD

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War if he will state who the officer was who was in command of the troops that landed at Suvla Bay; whether he is still in command, and, if not, whether he is still in the Service receiving full pay?

Mr. TENNANT

The officer who was in command at Suvla Bay is no longer in any command. I do not think it would be in the public interest to say more on this point at the present time.

Lieut.-Commander WEDGWOOD

Who appointed him?

Mr. TENNANT

He was appointed in the usual way.

Lieut.-Commander WEDGWOOD

On whose recommendation?
