HC Deb 13 October 1915 vol 74 c1280
4. Mr. GINNELL

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office the value of the Army contracts placed in Great Britain and in Ireland, respectively, and the respective percentages of the whole during the first twelve months of the War?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the WAR OFFICE (Mr. Forster)

The total value of contracts placed by the War Office with Irish firms from the beginning of the War to the 30th September last is about £2,600,000, but this figure takes no account of contracts placed locally—e.g., for provisions and forage—or of special local purchases, for which no estimates are available. I regret that I cannot give corresponding figures for Great Britain.
