HC Deb 12 October 1915 vol 74 c1193
63. Mr. CROOKS

asked the Secretary to the Treasury whether, in view of the fact that few working-class homes are worth £100, arrangements can be made to meet the needs of industrial insurers by which, if they insured against fire only to the amount of £50, they could be enabled to insure against enemy aircraft damage to the same sum?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I understand that policies are issued for £50, but that, in order to cover the cost of administration, postage, etc., it is not possible to issue a policy for a smaller premium than two shillings.
