HC Deb 12 October 1915 vol 74 c1196
72. Mr. JOHN O'CONNOR

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether he is aware that the county inspector of constabulary for County Kildare is accustomed to write in the inspection books in the stations that he officially visits such words as "Few cases" and "No cases"; do such entries imply that the apparently peaceful state of the county is undesirable; and is the object to incite police constables to manufacture prosecutions?

Mr. BIRRELL

I am not aware of the existence of the practice referred to, but if the hon. Member will give me particulars of any instance in which it is followed, I will make further inquiry.
