HC Deb 04 May 1915 vol 71 c952
25. Lord Charles BERESFORD

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War if he will inform the House why officers in the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry and the Gloucester Regiment serving at the front in the 27th Division are only drawing English rate of pay while other officers in the division are drawing Indian rate of pay?

Mr. BAKER

Neither battalion of these regiments was in India on the outbreak of War, and none of the officers are therefore entitled to draw Indian rates while serving with the Expeditionary Force.
