§ Sir H. VERNEYI assume that my hon. Friend is referring to the money spent by local authorities. The total amount of loans sanctioned for small holdings purposes during the five years ended 31st December, 1914, is £4,358,061, of which £3,581,259 was for purchase of land and £776,802 for works of equipment and adaptation.
