§ 58. Mr. BARNESasked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that the firm of Smart and Rolland, clothiers, Paisley, secured a contract for the supply of 150 military garments to the Renfrewshire Territorial Force Association, but that instead of having the work done in their own workshop the firm sent it to a factory in Glasgow; whether the work was executed under a sub-contract; if so, whether the consent of the authorities was first obtained; and whether he can state the date when the firm sent in their estimate for the contract?
Mr. BAKERI have no information as to this and I would point out to my hon. Friend that the contract in question is one made by a Territorial Force Association under its statutory powers.
Mr. MacCALLUM SCOTTIs it not to be assumed that the work will be better done in Glasgow than in Paisley?
