HC Deb 15 June 1915 vol 72 c524
3. Mr. ROWLANDS

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War, whether he is aware that men living at Dartford who work at Woolwich Arsenal on night shifts from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. have to pay the ordinary railway fare of 1s. 4d. a day, or 8s. a week of six days, whereas the workmen's train ticket costs 6d. a day or 3s. a week of six days; and whether arrangements can be made for these men to travel the double journey at single fare?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the WAR OFFICE (Mr. Forster)

Arrangements have been made for the issue of special cheap tickets to workmen engaged on the night shifts at Woolwich Arsenal from stations at which workmen's tickets are ordinarily available during restricted hours. These arrangements will be notified to all concerned at an early date.
