Sir EDWARD COATESasked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the shortage of agricultural labour in certain parts of the country, he will consider the possibility of permitting soldiers now training in or near such parts of the country to assist the farmers in getting in the hay and corn harvest, such soldiers being selected by the military authorities from amongst those who are willing to undertake such employment and being paid by the farmers employing them the current rate of wages in the district?
