HC Deb 20 July 1915 vol 73 cc1458-9

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Clause stand part of the Bill."

Sir J. D. REES

Since the Government of India here does not mean the Governor-General in Council, but, on the contrary, the administration of the country, will the hon. Gentleman note, when the amending Bill is being prepared, the desirability of using the word "administration" instead of "government" with a small "g"?

Mr. ROBERTS

That is a point which might be considered in the amending Bill, but it is rather difficult to avoid the phrase in this Bill.

Question put, and agreed to.
