HC Deb 05 July 1915 vol 73 cc26-7
33. Mr. CLOUGH

asked the Secretary to the Admiralty if he will explain why men who have, served twelve or fourteen years in the Royal Navy and also five years in the Royal Fleet Reserve, and whose conduct during the whole of their service has been returned as very good, have received only two good conduct badges, whilst men in the Royal Naval Reserve, who had never served on one of His Majesty's ships before the present War, have received three good conduct badges as well as a good conduct medal?

Dr. MACNAMARA

Royal Fleet Reservists who are called up for active service wear the good conduct badges to which they are entitled by their previous service in the Royal Navy. I do not understand my hon. Friend's question so far as it relates to the Royal Naval Reserve, as good conduct badges are not awarded to the members of that force.
