HC Deb 22 February 1915 vol 70 cc13-4
28. Sir ARCHIBALD WILLIAMSON

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether permission has been granted to local fishermen to pursue cod net-fishing in the Moray Firth, subject, amongst others, to the restriction that the boats engaged shall not exceed 45 feet; whether boats usually engaged in this fishing are from 45 to 60 feet in length; and whether the Admiralty will assist the fishermen by extending the length prescribed, so as to enable them to pursue the fishing with the larger boats, which in most cases are the only boats they have?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the ADMIRALTY (Dr. Macnamara)

The limitation referred to (which appeared in the provisional regulations) has been removed.
