HC Deb 11 February 1915 vol 69 c728
85. Mr. MORRELL

asked the Postmaster-General whether he has received complaints of the high postal rates that are charged on parcels sent to soldiers on foreign service; and whether he proposes to take any action?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which I gave to the hon. Member for Bedford on the 4th instant.

Mr. MORRELL

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider the possibility of reducing the rates?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

If my hon. Friend will read the answer he will see that the whole argument was set out.

86. Mr. KELLAWAY

asked the Postmaster-General if he will say whether in Switzerland parcels of gifts and contributions in supplement of regimental food and clothing sent to or by troops are carried free of postage by the Government; and whether a similar practice exists with any other Powers?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

I am not in possession of the information sought by my hon. Friend.

Mr. KELLAWAY

Would my right hon. friend endeavour to obtain it?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

Certainly.
