HC Deb 11 February 1915 vol 69 c717
60. Mr. WATT

asked whether Messrs. Glanfield and Company are paid by a percentage on the value of all clothing for the Army ordered and passed by them, or whether they are paid a fixed price by the War Office and allowed to get the goods at sweated prices from sub-contractors, or whether they are allowed both a percentage and a profit?

Mr. BAKER

Fixed prices are paid under Messrs. R. Glanfield and Co.'s contract for all clothing made from standard material, a reduction being made in the event of cheaper material being accepted. The contract provides for the insertion of the Fair-Wages Clause in all sub-contracts made by Messrs. Glanfield.
