HC Deb 10 February 1915 vol 69 c560
41. Mr. WATT

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether the regiment usually known as the Lovat Scouts is on the same footing with regard to the War Office as other regiments raised since the beginning of August; if so, whether it is the usual practice to prevent men allotting any of their pay to their mothers except on declaration that their mothers are otherwise in complete destitution?

Mr. BAKER

The regiments of Lovat's Scouts are on the same footing as other Yeomanry regiments, and there is no such practice as that suggested in the second part of the hon. Member's question.

Mr. WATT

Is the declaration in the second point of the question a part of the Regulations of the Army?

Mr. BAKER

It is not part of the Regulations of the Army, nor, I am informed, is it the practice.
