HC Deb 10 February 1915 vol 69 cc559-60
39. Mr. JOYNSON-HICKS

asked the Attorney-General whether his attention has been called to the block in the Master's Chambers at the King's Bench Division owing to the number of applications under the Courts Emergency Act; and whether the Government can consider the appointment of one or two temporary masters to deal with this work during the continuance of the War?

The ATTORNEY-GENERAL (Sir J. Simon)

The Lord Chief Justice of England has had this matter under consideration, and arrangements have been made which will satisfactorily meet any temporary pressure of work under the Courts (Emergency Powers) Act.
