HC Deb 10 February 1915 vol 69 c570
67. Mr. BRIDGEMAN

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office if he has received complaints that the Army paymasters are dilatory in settling their accounts and that delays of some months are causing great difficulties to their creditors, especially to small tradesmen; and, if so, if this grievance will be remedied?

Mr. BAKER

I do not think that there has been any dilatoriness on the part of paymasters; but in some cases there have been delays before bills reached the paymasters for payment. If the hon. Member will communicate to me any cases known to him, I will have the grievance remedied.
