HC Deb 09 February 1915 vol 69 c400
53. Mr. DUNDAS WHITE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been called to the disparity arising from the fact that while a special supplementary allowance is made by the War Office in respect of rents in London no corresponding allowance, even on a reduced scale, is made in respect of rents in Glasgow and other large towns where the rents, though not as high as in London, are considerably higher than the rents in other places; and if he can say whether he proposes to take any action in the matter?

Mr. BAKER

This question has been before the Select Committee, but I am not yet in a position to make a statement.
