HC Deb 04 February 1915 vol 69 cc136-7
63. Mr. WILLIAM YOUNG

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether the Government are prepared to authorise the issue of free travelling passes in cases of soldiers who are permitted to visit their homes in circumstances of family affliction?

Mr. BAKER

It has recently been decided to issue a free railway pass to soldiers visiting their homes in the case of the serious illness or death of parent, wife, or child, during the period of the War.

Colonel ALAN SYKES

Does that apply to members of the Territorial Force as well as to Regulars?

Mr. BAKER

Yes; it applies to all soldiers.
